Knäckebröd - A dark and tasty crisp bread that is baked from old family recipes. Brown baked is, just as the name implies, baked for slightly longer and is, therefore, darker with a richer taste. Leksands knäcke is a Swedish company dating back to the 19th century. The crispbreads are baked basically from the same simple recipes; RYE from the fields, water from their own spring, yeast and a pinch of salt.
Bread baked becomes a little darker and gets a richer taste by baking a little longer. To make the cake checkered, the dough is nibbled with a special rolling pin. The boxes ferment and form airy pillows, which makes the bread especially dry and crunchy.
